Monosodium phosphate
Molecular Formula: NaH₂PO₄
Molecular Weight: 119.959
CAS Number: 7558-80-7
Customs Code: 28352200
Alias: MSP
Characteristics:
- Melting point: 60°C
- Easily soluble in water, insoluble in ethanol
- Below 100°C, it dissolves in crystalline water to form a monohydrate
- At 100°C, it loses its crystalline water to become anhydrous; further heating converts it to sodium metaphosphate
Description
Product Uses:
- Industrial Uses: Boiler water treatment, electroplating, leather tanning, detergents, fuel additives, dye auxiliaries, mica separation, acid buffers
- Food and Fermentation Industries: Used as a quality improver and leavening agent in baking powder, and as a feed additive
- Raw Material: Used in the production of sodium hexametaphosphate and tetrasodium pyrophosphate
